Of all the activities that an RC vehicle enthusiast gets to indulge in, RC vehicle racing has to get top billing. To look at any RC vehicle racing enthusiast, it does not generally matter who they get to race against – it could be a next-door neighbor or at a competitive event – the type of high they get from it is obvious. Certainly, as important as taking part is to any RC vehicle racing aficionados, it isn’t only about how well they play. The adventure lies in the winning. And there are a few things that any dedicated racing enthusiast can prepare for to make the very best of an event.

There are some racer controlled components to a vehicle that can affect the result of an event as much as the tires can. Tires need to be selected with judgement. Just like with the history of used cars you are thinking about purchasing, the tire history tells the story of wear. Just like you want to ensure that those used cars have had the suitable tires, make certain of that here. How much more critical would tire tread be with race automobiles than with used cars? A lot more critical.

They need to be matched to the surface which the race will happen on. If at all possible, you need to be able to look at the type of tires that come suggested for the type of surface the race will occur on. If you could take a look at the type of choices that the other car racers at an event are making, all the better.

It’s easy to get swayed in to trying out some newfangled tire/insert mixture on the market for a race. A competitive event is not the time to try out something brand-new. That can wait for when you are practicing at home. You need to be able to concentrate on just the combinations that you are comfortable with, having raced with them in times past. Normally a race on blacktop is done on foam tires, purple seems to go very well with it. On carpet, with foam tires, black in the front and purple on the back can be specifically effectual.

Psyching yourself up for an RC vehicle race event can be truly significant. Showing up early for an event for instance goes very far in showing your fellow competitors how seriously you take an event. That display of committment can be hard for your competitors to recover from. You can show your technique off by indulging in a few warm-up games to pass the time, and tie up loose ends before getting ready for the main event. Given that each event takes place on a fresh surface, you need to be able to practice on the very surface the event will happen on before you race for real. Show up early enough to help set up the turf so that you can get to practice on it the longest. You’ll be glad for the added practice.

At last the long awaited day of my life had appeared! For the past two and a half years I was saving my wage to purchase a four wheel vehicle for myself, one that could haul six of us, that comprises me and my five friends, for our holiday trips.

I shortlisted a couple of cars from the extensive list of 6 seater vehicles. My parents asked me to look for 6 seat cars, but majority of the so called 6 seat cars on the market could hardly fit the huge bulk of my 3 friends in the rear seat. Therefore I ended up with two off-roaders that can comfortably accommodate six persons, and also our weekend accessories such as tents, mountain bike etc.

The number one on the list was Mahindra Thar, a classic jeep, with soft top that can be removed at will. The second one was an SUV named Sumo from the stables of Tata. I know both of them belong to different classes, but their price tag compelled me to shortlist them. The former was available at a price of $12000 and the latter at $13000, a big difference of $1000.

Thar appeared more aggressive and was an extremely capable off-roader. In the meantime Sumo looked more like a family man’s vehicle and was not that nice as Thar in off-roading. My heart was moved towards Thar, because I always had this love for classic vehicles in me. I was confused between the two, my family was more keen towards the Sumo and my love for jeep was burning inside me.

Then all of a sudden my Grandpa’s face came into my mind, he was a great traveller and did travel from Leh to Kanyakumari, the entire length of India from North to South in his Royal Enfield. He always said “pursue what your heart desires, and you will never regret”, and that shed light into my puzzled darkness.

I decided to go for the Mahindra Thar, and ended up customising it for another thousand dollars and now she looks more charming than a Mercedes! The next week we moved straight to Mysore via Munnar and Ooty, and conquered all the highest points in South India. Now the 6 of us are preparing for an Himalayan trip, following the trails left behind by my favorite Grandpa.

You could learn a lot by watching a person do their job. Often, there is much more involved than you possibly can imagine. I knew someone once who made some money doing car painting, and while I actually had no idea what was actually involved, I was stunned about how much cash he made for each car or truck he painted. He was typically sloppy in other areas of life, however when it came to his work, he did such a great job that folks came from all over just to have him do their vehicle. They always knew they were getting superb work and attention to detail, and that was actually all that counted.

I went to work with him one day because he was actually near friends of mine. I stuck around for a short while to look at him do his car painting, mostly on used cars. Although he appeared to be quick at what he was doing, you could see the love in each detail and every move that he made. He took his car painting seriously, and that most likely came from his love of the car. The care he took in marking off the parts of the car before painting was amazing in detail, although he was extraordinarily efficient with his motions. If dealers had him repaint all of their used cars before selling, they’ll turn quite a profit!

Car painting for used cars can be costly, but in case you don’t want to spend very much, you may have to deal with the job that you get. Some are good, but you need to find someone like my pal who took pride in the car painting job. The difference would be noticeable. Some specialise in regular painting, meaning, you can get your vehicle in another color, and others can add details. If you would like flames on your car, there is someone out there that can do this for you.

Finding someone for car painting is often not that tough, however the best way to find someone great is to go by word of mouth. Ask around for recommendations, and see which names come up the most. Car painting is actually so much like cutting hair and painting a portrait. Some are simply talented and have a love of what they do, and their work would stand out above others.

Make sure you ask for details about how many coats you can get, what colours they’ve got access to, and what to expect. Excellent painters may have a long list of people in line in front of you, but that just tells you that they are great at what they do.
